Recent Happenings

Seems like we've been pretty busy lately, though I'm not really sure what we've accomplished. Here are some pictures from our last few days. Henry had a whole week of 'spirit' days. Tuesday was "tie or tie-dye day." He wore Pete's Peanuts tie to school and Pete took this sassy picture.

Yesterday was cold as all get out. We had, fortunately, made some fun indoor plans with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. We met Keri and Sue and their cutie-pie Noah out for bowling. It was a party with the "cosmic" lights on.

Clara chose a very special outfit for the occasion, layering several looks. When it wasn't her turn to bowl, she mostly seemed to enjoy lying on the floor and rolling the ball around. It probably didn't help that it was 1:30 and she's usually in bed for a nap at that time.
Today was a quieter day. Pancakes for breakfast, then the kids went with me to school for a little bit to take care of some things, while Pete ran other errands. Then we all met up at Potbelly for lunch. After naps for all we worked on the kids' Valentines. We made superhero Tootsie-Roll pops with the message "you're a super friend!" I found the idea online and, aside from cutting out all the masks, they were easy to make.

Tonight was spaghetti for dinner and baths, not necessarily in that order, and then a bit of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before bed. Hopefully Clara will settle down enough that Pete and I can enjoy watching a bit of the Grammys. Here's our spunky little girl in the tub:

April Fools

Here are some more pictures of some of the silliness that has been going on around our house lately...
Henry in the kennel:
Peek-a-Boo in the bath:
After bath cuddles:
Snowstorm in almost-April:
Chocolate pizza from a birthday party Henry attended on Saturday:
Here's what I'd like to make for dinner tonight:
These are meatloaf cupcakes with whipped potato 'frosting'.
Here's dessert: cookies with peanut butter and corn flakes, strawberry jam (seedless) and apple taffy peas.
What will I actually make? Probably the already prepared ravioli and sauce that Pete bought at Trader Joe's. If I really get ambitious, I'll let you know...

Brother and Sister

First off, I might have a few tendencies inherited from my dad... Last weekend (you'll remember that it was Valentine's day and we were all a little ill) Henry and I decided to build a big castle. I felt compelled to lay out all the blocks before we got started....
I worked on the castle while Henry made a "track" for the cars.
Clara was feeling pretty well. She put on this cute Valentine outfit and bounced in her chair a bit. I have pictures from our Valentine's "dinner" but they're mildly depressing, so I won't post them.
Here's Henry with a drawing he made a few mornings ago. That's Scott and Chloe on the left, and an octopus playing the electric guitar on the bottom.
And here is Henry sharing his colors.
Yesterday Clara got a VERY special package in the mail. It was a birthday present from Aunt Joyce. She loves her new blanket and wanted to cuddle up right away!! Take note of the cowgirl themed back side. This quilt is also special because it shares some pieces with Henry's similar chenille quilt.
Tonight Henry and Clara had their first bath together. They both thought it was hilarious.
And finally...I will post soon about our first visit with the physical therapist this week...but here's a picture of Clara showing off her cute new crawl!!
And then, of course, she pops up and goes right back to scooting. Oh well.
We're supposed to get lots of snow tonight! I already have the chocolate-chip pancakes planned for the morning.
