A Couple More...

Silly faces.
 Posing by the pumpkins.
Best part of the night; counting candy, eating candy and watching Charlie Brown.
Our trick-or-treater tally was about 70 this year.

Halloween

I love that the kids aren't into scary or sexy costumes yet. Let's hope that day never comes. Here they are before the first of two parties today. Today Clara's costume was an excuse to wear fairy/butterfly wings. Tomorrow she'll be a lion, which will make everyone think Henry is a safari guy rather than a paleontologist.

Halloween

This first picture is actually from a couple of weeks ago when the kids woke up with face paint still on from Pumpkinfest. They like to read the Sunday comics together.
Here are Pete and his dad yesterday afternoon.
The kids were ready to go, posing by our headless scarecrow.
Grandma and Bampa came to see them trick-or-treat their first few houses.
Here's our spooky family pose.
Henry and Clara made their first visit to the neighbor's house. Jan filled Henry's Unicef box with lots of change.
Here come the Huelkes. Anna's nurse cap was adorable.
Jonah came up to treat with us as he does every year. It's hard to believe that the kids are starting to outgrow this table.
And that's about all of the pictures I took! It was happy haunting, though! And we have way too much candy in the house now. Please, come over. Eat some.

Almost Halloween

Henry's class had their Halloween parade yesterday morning. That's the principal there at the front.
Somehow I missed getting a shot of his pal Sonali, who was dressed as an iphone, and his pal Rachel who was dressed as a tub of purple play-doh.
Here he comes!
Cutest little dinosaur I ever saw!
Clara was very excited to see her famous big brother.
Sharon joined us to watch the parade and she snapped this photo of me and Clara.
Clara was very interested in this little baby dressed as a piggy.
We're heading to a little Halloween party this afternoon. I was in charge of the fruit salad. I thought this looked pretty good.
But the eyeballs made it even better.
Marshmallows in fruit salad? Well, it is Halloween! Also...I kept trying to think up a funny joke about ghost poop. I don't know...

Fluh-fly

I love the way Clara says "butterfly".

More Halloween Pictures

Here are a couple pictures Helena sent me. Anna wore Henry's penguin costume from last year.
How cute are they?
Here they are trick-or-treating with Ed who was dressed as Elvis.
And this is my favorite...

Halloween

First of all...Go Hawks!!! It was a spooky game there for a while!
Here's Henry at breakfast. I was going to make pumpkin pancakes, but didn't get any pumpkin, so we did orange sprinkles and chocolate chips instead. The bat was a project at the library.
Last night, when Pete went to get our Thai take-out, Henry and I quickly decorated Pete's pumpkin. Here's the finished product.
Here we are, about to start our trick-or-treating.
It was cool and windy, but sunny!
Clara was unsure about the whole thing.
After trick-or-treats there was much chaos at our house. Here are the kids eating a little dinner.
Here are the cakes that I couldn't resist...as if we needed more sugar. (Also- please note the completely unopened bag of Milky Way in the background! I can't believe we have extra- and I can't believe it's Milky Way instead of something better.)
Here are the poor little girls that just about got trampled by the big boys running crazy around the house. They held their own pretty well.
Now the kids are sleeping. Maybe they'll let us sleep in for that extra hour in the morning....
