"That's going to be on the blog!"

Several weeks ago the weather was awful. We had been passing colds around for months. We were feeling housebound and stir crazy. So we decided to have a beach party and will the warm weather to come. Then Henry got sick again and we had to cancel. The weather has warmed up now, and we've all been fairly healthy. But we still needed our pina colada fix. We got it last night.

Everyone wore their finest beach attire.

Henry and his buddy Jonah were unstoppable.

I'm including this next shot mostly to show off the red table, which we finally moved in from the garage.

The dining room table was turned into an underwater play area for the kids. We also had the picnic table and lots of beach towels inside. There was fishing too, but I don't think we have a photo.

Max had quite the beach party duds. Check out his surfin' safari suit and his crab socks.

Everyone had to take their turn in the "photo booth" with props. Here are Stephen, Shelly and Jonah.

Due to some crappy traffic, a few friends didn't arrive until later. I guess Amanda got pretty hungry in the car and decided to delve into the guacamole. Then Stookey took a sharp left. When they got here he asked if he could borrow a spatula. I sent Pete out with the camera, and when they returned the title of this post is what came out of Stookey's mouth. The remaining guac was delicious.

This is not a very good picture, except that it does show off the bar a bit. Actually, those margarita glasses went untouched. The pina coladas were too yummy.

We had smores for dessert. Here Matt captures Henry and Ava's chocolatey faces, while Franklin looks on with devil eyes.

Sarah also had a harrowing car ride up to the suburbs, but I think Clara cheered her a bit.

Here are Ava, Matt and Amy in the photo booth.

And Max with parents Kevin and Beth (see more photos on their blog- linked in the sidebar).

Here are Sarah and Mike. But what I really want you to see is the smores. We made them with Nutella and mini marshmallows. Delicious!!

Mike and Sarah...

Jonathan (we sometimes do use his first name) and Amanda.

And us....after the kids had gone to bed. Though Henry was still calling to us through the monitor. That kid hates to miss out on any action.
